In 2025, families welcoming a new baby will have the opportunity to receive financial compensation for the one-time natural assistance known as the «baby package».
This compensation is a one-time payment for each live-born child, intended for purchasing various baby products such as hygiene items, clothing, footwear, nutrition, toys, and other necessary items for infants.
The payment will be provided to the parents of newborns, as well as to foster caregivers, adoptive parents, guardians, and others caring for the child, in the form of a cashless compensation transferred to a special account in a bank.
The amount of compensation will equal three times the subsistence minimum for children under six years old, as stipulated by law at the time of the child's birth. Starting January 1, 2025, this amount will be 7689 UAH.
Applications for compensation can be submitted:
- in person at social protection units;
- by mail in paper form;
- electronically through the «eBaby» service during birth registration.
Compensation can be claimed if the application is submitted within 12 months from the date of the child's birth.
Recipients can use the funds within a year to purchase baby products at stores participating in the «baby package» program, with a list published on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.
Additionally, the natural assistance «baby package» is available, consisting of over 50 quality items, including new additions such as reusable diapers and parenting books.
