In December 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of winter train operations on children's railways in four cities in Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, and Rivne.
The Kyiv Children's Railway will commence operations on December 25, 2025.
From December 17, tickets and schedules will be available online via the mobile app and the Ukrzaliznytsia website.
Now, planning a winter trip with kids, family, or friends is easier than ever — without long lines and with the option to choose a convenient time in the desired city.
For each ticket purchased, you will receive 250 «hugs», which can be exchanged for discounts and partner services within the loyalty program.
This year, the travel costs are: general carriage — 80 UAH (child) and 110 UAH (adult); retro carriage — 90 UAH (child) and 130 UAH (adult); luxury carriage — 100 UAH (child) and 150 UAH (adult).
For those dreaming of becoming a train driver, dispatcher, or conductor: the UZ website provides contacts to enroll in free training for children aged 10–12 years.

The Kyiv-Passenger Children's Station is a mini-copy of the Central Railway Station of the capital. During the journey, young passengers will see 27 information boards about regional centers of Ukraine, as well as receive reference and heraldic information about Kyiv and Sevastopol and learn about local attractions.
Interestingly, the first train on the Kyiv Children's Railway ran on August 2, 1953. In 2018, a large reconstruction of the children's railway began, and now the route length is 6.7 km, with two stations — «Kyiv-Passenger — Children's» and «Railway».
