In Ukraine, a new Children's Protection Day is celebrated for the first time on November 20, coinciding with Universal Children's Day.

This holiday was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine №355/2025 on May 30, 2025, and will be observed annually.

Previously, this day was celebrated on June 1 according to the President's decree from May 30, 1998, which is no longer in effect.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the Defense Forces are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of children and their future.

«Today, we honor the memory of children whose lives were cut short by aggression. The aggressor has deprived them of childhood and a peaceful life. It is our duty to do everything we can to hold accountable those responsible for these crimes. Our defenders work tirelessly every day to protect children and secure a bright future,» the statement reads.
