Despite the ongoing conflict, Ukraine is advancing its preparations for the IV International Food Security Summit to be held in Kyiv. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that the nation remains a key player in global food solidarity.
“We continue our mission even in the toughest times,” the minister stated on social media.
He recalled the President Zelensky's initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” which has already delivered over 320,000 tons of Ukrainian food products to 18 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Sybiha highlighted that Ukraine's historical role in ensuring food security carries deep significance.
“As we approach the Holodomor Remembrance Day on November 22, we must remember that hunger should never be used as a weapon,” he stressed.
The minister assured that Ukraine will continue to resist food blackmail and uphold the principle that access to food is a fundamental human right.
“As a nation that suffered from famine in the past, we are ready to assist all those facing hunger,” Sybiha emphasized.
Kyiv anticipates important discussions at the summit regarding solidarity and shared commitments.
