The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and global technology company Mastercard will enhance their collaboration to improve cyber resilience, foster digital maturity among entrepreneurs, and implement Gov-Tech initiatives.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, the president of Mastercard for Eastern Europe Yasemin Bedir, and the general director of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova Inga Andreeva during a meeting with the minister's advisor Valeriya Ionan and representatives of Mastercard's regional team.
Mastercard is one of our key and longstanding partners. Together we have already implemented dozens of projects that assist businesses and millions of Ukrainians in their daily lives. The new memorandum is another step forward in our partnership. We will work together to enhance financial literacy, develop digital tools for entrepreneurs within the Diia.Business framework, scale card products, and promote GovTech initiatives and cybersecurity projects. I am confident that many more important results lie ahead.
The focus of our collaboration includes:
- enhancing the digital maturity of small and medium enterprises and supporting Ukrainian business in collaboration with the Diia.Business project;
- developing digital products for secure payments, digital identification, and access to public services;
- improving financial literacy among Ukrainians and businesses via the Diia.Education portal and the Mriya app;
- advancing GovTech initiatives in partnership with the Global Government Technology Centre in Kyiv;
- launching new educational projects on cybersecurity and sharing experiences to foster the FinTech sector.
For many years, Mastercard has collaborated with governments around the world, supporting their digital transformation journeys. In Ukraine, we are systematically implementing initiatives alongside the Digital Ministry that contribute to the country's digital progress, and we are excited to embark on a new phase of our cooperation. Our unwavering focus is on developing digital financial tools for Ukrainians, supporting entrepreneurs, and enhancing the digital maturity of businesses. Additionally, we will deepen our engagement in developing cybersecurity solutions as a strategically important area to strengthen the resilience of the financial and digital ecosystem.
Over the course of our long-term partnership, Mastercard and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have implemented numerous important initiatives aimed at scaling digital services and supporting small and medium enterprises. These include collaboration on the launch and development of the Diia.Business portal, establishing consulting offline centers in Ukraine, and opening the first Diia.Business center abroad, in Warsaw.
Mastercard has also contributed to the development of the financial functionality of the e-Entrepreneur comprehensive service, enabling entrepreneurs to access the necessary package of financial services and online services simultaneously with business registration. Furthermore, the Digital Ministry, Mastercard, and partner banks have launched several educational and grant programs to support entrepreneurs, including "Own" and "Trajectory 2".
