Ukraine is preparing to finalize an agreement with the United States for the transfer of technology related to combat drones that have been «tested in real combat scenarios». This was reported by Wall Street Journal.
According to sources from both nations, in exchange, Ukraine is expected to receive «royalties or other forms of compensation».
A significant advantage for Ukraine in this deal is its extensive experience in mass-producing affordable drones that have proven effective in battle. While American companies focus on «complex drone systems», Ukrainians specialize in «mass production of low-cost» UAVs.
A group of Ukrainian specialists, led by Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Boyev, has already initiated «multi-day negotiations» with Pentagon and State Department representatives in Washington.
An official from the U.S. government noted that finalizing the detailed agreement, which could be worth billions of dollars, «will likely take months».
