In Ukraine, September 17 marks Rescue Day.

This day is significant not only for emergency service workers but also for all citizens contributing to the mitigation of emergencies that threaten lives and health.

The holiday was established by a presidential decree on September 12, 2008.

Andriy Danyk, head of the State Emergency Service, congratulated colleagues and veterans on this important occasion.

He noted that firefighters, medics, sapper specialists, psychologists, and other team members are essential parts of the SES, and thanks to their efforts, thousands of lives are saved daily.

“Your bravery and professionalism in dangerous situations set an example for all. Unfortunately, we face new challenges as SES units come under attack,” Danyk emphasized.

“We suffer losses, and the memory of those who have fallen will remain in our hearts,” he added.

Danyk expressed gratitude to rescuers for their dedication and courage, urging faith in the triumph of good.
