In Ukraine, August 30 marks Aviation Day.

President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated aviators on their professional holiday via Telegram, emphasizing that it is thanks to them that the Ukrainian sky remains protected.

"Aviation Day is a celebration for those whose lives revolve around the skies, who see it as their profession and calling. Military and civilian, pilots, technical staff, air traffic controllers - all of you perform an essential task for our country. Your efforts ensure the safety of our airspace", he stated.

The President thanked everyone working for our safety and the strength of Ukraine in the skies. He highlighted the importance of developing Ukrainian aviation.

"We will do everything in our power to make the Ukrainian sky peaceful and safe. Happy Aviation Day, Ukraine!", the head of state emphasized.

Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal also congratulated aviators on Facebook: "Today we thank all those who help protect our country in the air: pilots, crews, engineers. You are true heroes who work daily against Russian terror and save lives of Ukrainians".

"Let us remember the members of the Ukrainian aviation community who gave their lives for our country. Their heroic deeds will forever remain in our hearts", Shmyhal noted.

He also expressed gratitude to "allies who help elevate our aviation capabilities. Ukraine will always remember your support in the toughest times".

"Dear aviators - pilots, navigators, engineers, communications officers, and all who stand guard over the Ukrainian sky. You are the reliable support in defending our state. Thanks to your courage and professionalism, millions of Ukrainians can live, work, and build our country", stated the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Anatoliy Kryvonozhko.

He mentioned that the bravery, resilience, and self-sacrifice of aviators save lives and inspire confidence in the hearts of Ukrainians.

"You are the pride of the nation and a symbol of the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people", the commander emphasized.

Aviation Day is a professional holiday for military and civilian aviators and aviation industry workers, celebrated annually on the last Saturday of August, established by the President's Decree "On Aviation Day" dated August 16, 1993.
