For young men aged 18 to 22 wishing to travel abroad, it is mandatory to possess a military registration document in either paper or electronic format.

This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Colonel Andriy Demchenko.

Details: Recently, the government approved changes to the rules governing border crossing for Ukrainian citizens. The relevant resolution was prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Demchenko emphasized that the document has not yet been published, and final information on the implemented changes will be available only after the resolution is posted on official platforms.

At the same time, according to current information from officials, from the moment the accepted changes come into force, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 will have the right to cross the state border of Ukraine during the period of martial law.

As noted by the spokesperson of the SBGS, it is important to highlight that this provision will not apply to individuals specified in points 2-14 of the mentioned rules, meaning those holding designated positions in state authorities and local self-government bodies. Travel abroad for this category of persons can still only occur for official business purposes.

Direct quote: "Regarding the ability of men aged 18 to 22 to cross the border, we also emphasize that to cross the border, it is necessary to have a passport document that allows crossing as well as a military registration document (or its electronic version), which must be presented upon request by a representative of the State Border Guard Service at the border crossing points of Ukraine.

Border guards will begin to facilitate the passage of this category of citizens, concerning whom changes have been made, after the publication of these changes and their entry into force."
