As the declaration process began, Ukrainian citizens reported 11,738 firearms and over 5 million rounds of ammunition.

This information was provided by the National Police of Ukraine.

«As of August 25, 2025, 10,687 individuals approached the police to declare 11,738 firearms and 5,413,413 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 347 firearms and 58,630 rounds of ammunition were surrendered voluntarily without declaration,» stated the NPU.

It was previously reported that since August 14, 2025, about fifty individuals approach the police daily for firearm declaration.

On November 25, 2024, the law of Ukraine «On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine» came into effect, regulating the acquisition, declaration, and handling of firearms.
