On August 24, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced a new set of commemorative coins in honor of Independence Day under the theme «National Symbols of Ukraine».
This set is dedicated to the key attributes of our national identity: the Coat of Arms, the Anthem, and the Flag of Ukraine.
The symbols that surround us can unite or divide, and state symbolism always speaks to our deep unity and values.
«This is an important sign that resonates with millions of Ukrainians around the world.
I proudly share with you another numismatic update that we have prepared for Ukraine's Independence Day,» stated NBU Chairman Andriy Pyshny.
This set of commemorative coins «National Symbols of Ukraine» is made of silver and is dedicated to the main elements of Ukrainian statehood: the coat of arms, the flag, and the anthem.
The Trident — a legacy of the Kyivan State of Volodymyr the Great, a symbol of unity and freedom, of the right to self-determination.
The Blue and Yellow Flag — colors of the sky and wheat, symbolizing prosperity and the natural wealth of our country.
The Anthem «Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished» — a song that has been uplifting the spirit of the nation for over a century and calls for struggle.
«The symbols of the state live in the hearts of each of us. They unite generations, shape national memory, and remind us that freedom is a value we carry through time! These symbols are immortalized in coins to remind us: Ukrainian independence has a strong foundation — our unity, dignity, and memory,» emphasized the NBU head while discussing the spiritual significance of the new coins.
