The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a series of decisions regarding veteran policy, notably supporting a new bill that outlines the foundations of state veteran policy.

This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.

"Today, we took a significant step for our defenders. We held a special government session dedicated to veteran policy issues and approved several decisions," she stated.

Svyrydenko clarified that the government endorsed a bill that establishes the statuses of veterans and their families, ensuring medical, educational, social, and legal support.

Additionally, veteran spaces are planned, services funded by the state budget, and memorialization of the fallen. The Prime Minister emphasized that all existing benefits and documents will remain valid.

"We also supported a bill concerning those who defended Ukraine's independence and sovereignty. We expect these bills to be adopted in the fall as part of the new Code of Laws on Defenders of Ukraine," she added.

A significant number of service members with confirmed combat experience from the full-scale war or combat veterans will be integrated into the Office of the President.
