This summer, there has been a significant surge in demand for passenger train services, surpassing the capabilities of the state-run company.
In August, the railway operates during the peak season for passenger transport. For every seat on the trains, there are about 4-5 requests.

Company representatives acknowledge that many passengers are disappointed when they cannot purchase tickets immediately after sales open. The reason is simple: a large number of people are searching for tickets simultaneously.
Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the fleet of carriages is decreasing faster than new ones can be purchased or modernized. Some carriages have been taken out of service due to age or damage: last year, three carriages were lost due to Russian shelling, six more were decommissioned due to wear, and 95 require expensive repairs.
Ukrzaliznytsia assures that despite all the difficulties, the company manages to transport more passengers year after year. As of August 3, there were 1488 carriages in long-distance trains.
The primary task for the near future is to increase the number of available seats. To achieve this, sufficient funding is necessary for UZ to regularly purchase new carriages and Intercity trains, as well as modernize those approaching the end of their service life.
