Since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Defense has supplied over 1 million FPV drones to the Armed Forces.
This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, on Facebook.
According to him, to expedite the delivery of drones to the front and ensure their adequate quantity, the Ministry is adopting new strategies. Specifically, under the framework agreement, manufacturers are contracted not by specific product names, but based on their compliance with technical specifications.
Shmyhal noted that this approach allows for the inclusion of a wider range of manufacturers in the procurement process, fostering competition and transparency through the Prozorro system.
Moreover, the digital marketplace DOT-Chain Defence, where units can independently choose the required drones, ensures timely delivery of drones to the front. The platform is already operational in pilot mode for 12 combat brigades.
"Our priority is to enhance the mechanisms for supplying soldiers on the front lines with necessary drones. According to the assigned directives, the Defense Procurement Agency is working to increase delivery rates so that each unit receives exactly what it needs to accomplish combat tasks," emphasized Shmyhal.
