A recently signed agreement with the union representing construction workers in Ukraine outlines a doubling of the minimum wage for builders.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
"This is a crucial document for those who work daily on the restoration of infrastructure," Kuleba stated.
The agreement is set for the years 2025-2027 and is mandatory for all companies operating in the construction and building materials sector. "Collective agreements must be established or updated based on this document," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Kuleba highlighted the key provisions of the agreement:
- A new guaranteed wage rate has been established for workers at 401% of the living wage, meaning the minimum salary is now 12142 hryvnias. The previous rate was 231%, or 6995 hryvnias.
- The agreement also includes provisions for workplace safety, qualification requirements, organization of production processes, and legal protections for workers. Specific tools for legalizing employment, professional training, and monitoring compliance with contractual obligations are also included.
