At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival held in France, four Ukrainian artists were recognized in various competitions: Irina Tsilyk, Maria Yanko, Natalia Velikanova, and Ondřej Moravec with Viktoria Lopukhina.
The festival took place from June 8 to June 15.

Irina Tsilyk won the Ciclic Prize in the "Mifa Pitches – Feature Films" category for her documentary project "Red Zone", showcasing a typical day in Kyiv during the war. She received a grant of 25,000 euros and a two-month animation residency in the French city of Vendôme.
Maria Yanko was awarded the ARTE France Prize in the "Mifa Pitches – Short Films" category for her animated film "Kateryna", which depicts how the full-scale invasion is portrayed on social media. The ARTE channel is set to acquire the rights to show this film in its "Court-circuit" program.
Natalia Velikanova created the project "Damned", which explores the ecological aftermath of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant explosion in 2023. This project won the Weird Market Prize in the "Mifa Pitches — Immersive Experiences" category and will be featured at the 17th Weird Market in Valencia, Spain, from September 30 to October 5, 2025.
Directors Ondřej Moravec and Viktoria Lopukhina received the Cristal for the Best VR Work award for their VR project "Fragile Home", which immerses viewers in a home environment that transforms into a dangerous zone.
During the festival, the Ukrainian short film "Memory Frescoes" directed by Oleksandra Dzhihanska, addressing themes of memory and personal experiences, was also presented.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is held annually in France. From 1960 to 1998, it was held biennially.
