The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the launch of a new network of startup schools that will serve as incubators and accelerators for young entrepreneurs. This initiative will be based on universities and research institutions.
“Participants in this initiative provide various services aimed at commercializing scientific achievements, developing innovative products, and forming a startup ecosystem in Ukraine,” the ministry states.
The network is targeted at students, researchers, and young entrepreneurs who have ideas for creating new scientific startups.
Startup schools will offer innovators:
- expert assistance and mentorship;
- access to necessary infrastructure;
- tools for fundraising;
- opportunities for developing business skills.
The main goal of the initiative is to promote entrepreneurship related to science, commercialize research results, and support technological progress in Ukraine.
So far, 23 higher education institutions have joined the network, including:
- Kyiv Aviation Institute;
- Kyiv Academic University;
- Vinnytsia National Technical University;
- Sumy State University;
- Odesa Polytechnic;
- Dniprovskyi Polytechnic;
- Ukrainian Catholic University;
- Kyiv School of Economics;
- Lviv Polytechnic;
- Zhytomyr Polytechnic;
- SET University;
- Odesa National Economic University;
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
- Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych;
- Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University;
- Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University;
- Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic;
- Kryvyi Rih National University;
- Vinnytsia National Agrarian University;
- Oles Honchar Dnipro National University;
- Poltava Polytechnic named after Yuriy Kondratiuk;
- Mykolaiv National Agrarian University;
- Yevhen Paton Institute of Electric Welding.
The Ministry emphasizes that other universities and research institutions can also join the initiative by filling out a respective questionnaire.
The applications will be reviewed by the Ministry's Council for Innovation Development, and the decision will be sent to the provided email address.
