According to the Center for Public Health, there were 10,622 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ukraine over the last week of August, with 14 fatalities.

Routine epidemiological surveillance data from healthcare institutions across all regions of Ukraine indicated that during the 35th week of 2025 (from August 25 to August 31), the number of individuals testing positive for COVID-19 increased by 46.2% compared to the previous week, which recorded 7,265 cases. There were also 14 deaths among those who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 during this period.
The Center for Public Health noted that in August 2025, the number of COVID-19 cases was half that of the previous year: 45,500 cases in August 2024 compared to 22,627 in August 2025.
As of August 25, 2025, sequencing results confirmed three infections with the Nimbus subvariant and 125 with the Stratus variant.
The Center emphasizes that vaccination remains the most effective way to protect against any variant of COVID-19, and it is provided free of charge in Ukraine.
