Since the start of the year, police dogs in Kyiv have discovered more than 50 kg of narcotics. Alongside their handlers, they patrol checkpoints, metro stations, and participate in operational activities and authorized searches.  This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
Throughout the year, law enforcement and their canine partners have responded to over 130 calls to detect illegal substances. In total, during the 11 months, police dogs have assisted in seizing over 50 kg of prohibited substances, including heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, Alpha-PVP, methadone, and cannabis.
"This is the result of seven noses working around the clock with their handlers. Meet our four-legged team: Labradors Leo and Norma, Malinois Chase, German Shepherds Thor and Kasta, and Spaniels Ornella and Coconut," stated the National Police.
Law enforcement emphasizes that despite the ingenuity of drug traffickers and their methods of concealment, these four-legged detectives consistently find their targets, whether hidden in household items, specially crafted hiding places, in the most remote corners of vehicles, or disguised under stones and buried deep in the ground.
