In the capital of Ukraine, a taxi driver became a victim of a crime when a passenger threatened him with violence and stole his phone. The offender faces up to ten years in prison for this act.
Recently, a 21-year-old taxi driver reached out to the police for assistance, stating that a passenger had threatened him with a weapon, forcing him to hand over his mobile phone. The driver did not see the weapon and dropped the assailant off on Red Kalina Avenue near a gas station.
Law enforcement quickly located the suspect at the gas station. He turned out to be a 43-year-old local resident who was intoxicated. No weapon was found on him.
The police detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and during a search of his belongings, they discovered the victim's mobile phone. Investigators informed the suspect of charges under part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — robbery committed in a state of martial law. The offender faces up to ten years of imprisonment for his crime.
