Law enforcement agencies in Kyiv have documented the criminal activities of a political party leader in collaboration with the SBU and the city's prosecutor's office.
According to the investigation, a 41-year-old leader of a political party, whose registration was annulled by court decision, promised a resident of Kyiv a fictitious job in the party in exchange for monetary compensation to support his election to the Ukrainian parliament.
Police recorded his illegal activities and arrested him while he was receiving 160,000 dollars for his “services”.
Investigators have charged the suspect under parts 2 of Article 15 and part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for an attempted fraud involving deceit during martial law and in particularly large amounts. The offender faces up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.
During the investigation, the court chose to detain the suspect in custody with the possibility of bail set at 6,725,000 hryvnias.
