The Security Service of Ukraine has reported the arrest of another enemy agent operating in the Poltava and Kirovohrad regions. This individual was spying on military convoys heading toward the front lines through central Ukraine.
He installed a hidden mini-camera with an additional battery at one of the local railway sections, allowing the enemy to monitor the routes of cargo trains belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in real-time and assess the amount of military equipment being transported.
Additionally, the spy attempted to identify the locations of air defense systems in central regions. Following orders from the enemy, he was tasked with sending a photo report with geolocations.
According to the case materials, the 18-year-old resident of the Kremenchuk district caught the attention of the enemy through Telegram channels discussing "easy earnings."
The SBU documented his crimes and arrested him at his residence. Prior to this, measures were taken to dismantle the espionage equipment and secure the positions of the Armed Forces.
The suspect was found with a phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.
SBU investigators have charged him under part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was conducted by SBU personnel in the Poltava region under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
