In the capital of Ukraine, counterintelligence and investigators from the Security Service arrested an fsb agent, recruited from a European country. This former military instructor was passing critical information to the enemy regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces and planning terrorist activities.
It has been established that in early 2024, the foreigner arrived in Ukraine to train mobilized personnel but later began to collaborate with Russian intelligence, posting offers in pro-Kremlin online groups.
He was contacted by an fsb operative who assigned him tasks.
Among other things, the agent provided:
- information about foreign instructors he had previously communicated with;
- coordinates of Ukrainian Armed Forces training centers in southern Ukraine.
To prepare for further tasks, the occupiers sent him instructions for making an improvised explosive device and the coordinates of a stash from which he retrieved a pistol with loaded magazines.
The SBU successfully uncovered the enemy collaborator in time, documented his crimes, and arrested him at his residence in the capital.
He has been charged under part 3 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation is ongoing to determine all the circumstances of the crime.
The offender faces up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
