A 22-year-old man in Kyiv, under the influence of alcohol, instigated a conflict with a stranger that led to a stabbing. After the incident, he attempted to flee but fell and injured his leg. He faces up to seven years in prison. 
Recently, in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, the young man approached a group and asked for a cigarette. When refused, he reacted aggressively, using foul language. 
During the altercation, he drew a knife and ended up cutting the cheek of a 42-year-old man. Following this, he tried to escape but fell and broke his leg. 
The police arrived at the scene and documented the circumstances of the crime. Both the victim and the assailant were hospitalized. 
Authorities, under the direction of the prosecutor's office, charged the young man under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. The law stipulates a sentence of up to seven years imprisonment.
