The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered another Russian agent in Kharkiv. This individual was involved in coordinating airstrikes against the Defense Forces in the frontline city.
Investigations revealed that on June 5, the enemy executed a massive strike based on coordinates provided by the detainee.
During the attack, Russian kamikaze drones known as «Geran-2» targeted the city.
Following the nighttime assault, the agent surveyed the areas of impact to document the extent of the destruction and report back to his handlers in Russia.
It was discovered that the detainee is a 48-year-old worker at a local service station who had caught the attention of the occupiers through a Telegram channel while seeking «quick earnings».
Performing enemy tasks, he would cycle around the city almost daily, trying to locate where he believed Ukrainian defenders might be positioned.
SBU cyber specialists apprehended him «in the act» as he was compiling new coordinates for potential targets at home.
The investigators have charged the agent under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is being held in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
Comprehensive measures were carried out by SBU employees in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
