The Security Service of Ukraine apprehended an FSB agent who, posing as an international cargo driver, was involved in coordinating Russian assaults on Ukraine.
Investigations revealed that his primary task was to collect and relay geolocation data of critical defense and infrastructure targets to the enemy.
Additionally, during foreign assignments, the agent monitored the movement of weapons and military goods being transported through the European Union toward Ukraine, passing this information to the aggressor.
According to case materials, the suspect recorded target coordinates while transporting cargo and stored relevant data on six smartphones for secrecy.
Cyber specialists of the SBU discovered that this adjuster was one of the participants in an FSB agent network that was exposed by the Security Service back in January this year. At that time, three members of the criminal group were arrested, while the driver was abroad.
The SBU detained him immediately upon his return to Ukraine.
Mobile phones containing evidence of his work with the FSB were found in his possession.
Investigators of the Security Service informed him of the suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
Comprehensive measures were conducted under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Attorney General.
