A 61-year-old local resident died at the scene from a stab wound. The woman faces up to fifteen years in prison.
The police received a call from medical personnel about a man with a fatal knife injury found in an apartment on Yordanska Street. An investigative team and forensic expert were dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of the 61-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest. His wife, a 52-year-old woman, was also present in the apartment. During questioning, she contradicted herself — first claiming that her husband had stabbed himself, then asserting that she had held the knife while he 'ran into it.'
Through the investigation, law enforcement established the true circumstances: a domestic conflict escalated, during which the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband in the chest. He died at the scene.
The police detained the 52-year-old woman under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Evidence was also collected from the scene. Investigators informed her of the suspicion under part 1, article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional murder. She is currently in custody, facing up to fifteen years of imprisonment.
