While shopping, a couple left their 6-year-old son unattended, and the little boy found a lighter on the shelf. He decided to play with it and ignited a box containing a chair. The fire quickly spread to other shelves with products. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Recently, the police in Kyiv received a report about a fire in a hypermarket in the Dnipro district. An investigative team and emergency responders arrived at the scene and swiftly extinguished the flames.
Authorities discovered that the fire was started by a 6-year-old customer. While the parents were busy shopping, the boy approached the shelf with lighters and set a box with a chair on fire.
The flames spread to several shelves, causing damages exceeding 30,000 hryvnias. Thankfully, no visitors or staff were harmed.
Police spoke with the child and filed administrative materials against the parents for neglecting their parental duties, which could lead to a substantial fine.
