Kirovohrad police are intensively searching for a man who opened fire on officers.
The report of the shooting came in at 16:03 from the village of Pishchany Brid in the Novoukrainka district. During a document check of a local resident, he fired at the police with an unidentified weapon. 
As a result of the shooting, the head of the SRPP sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while his partner was injured in the arm.
Currently, measures are being taken to apprehend the assailant. A special police operation has been launched in the region.
