A woman who set fire to two cars in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv has been sentenced to three years in prison. While walking through the city in an intoxicated state, she ignited two vehicles - a Ford and a Volkswagen. Investigators established the guilt of the 27-year-old woman, and she has received a court sentence.
In February, the Desnianskyi police received reports of the arson of two cars parked on Ronald Reagan Street and Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue.
During the preliminary investigation, police identified the 27-year-old local resident as the suspect, and she was quickly apprehended.
It was revealed during the investigation that at the time of the arson, the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She used a lighter to ignite garbage she found nearby, placing it under the vehicles. As a result of her actions, the car owners suffered damages amounting to nearly 300,000 hryvnias.
Following the collection of necessary evidence, investigators charged her under part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional destruction or damage to property by fire. The indictment was subsequently sent to court.
Recently, the Desnianskyi court imposed a sentence of three years in prison on the offender.
