On the night of May 16, gunshots rang out in downtown Kyiv as a patrol officer fired at a suspect's vehicle. The man, who was wanted, attempted to flee and hit a police officer.

Details: Witnesses reported that the incident took place early in the morning at Independence Square.
"Ukrainian Truth" reached out to the police for a comment.
Quote from Kyiv Patrol Police: "During patrol, our officers stopped an Audi vehicle whose driver was violating the curfew. Upon checking the driver's documents, it was discovered that the man was wanted under Article 210 of the Administrative Code. We requested him to drive to the RTC for further clarification of the circumstances."
More Details: The police added that the man began to act aggressively and attempted to flee, "striking a police officer."
"According to part 7 of Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine 'On the National Police,' the officer fired his service weapon towards the vehicle, but the driver continued to flee," the police reported.
Currently, the vehicle has been located and the fugitive has been apprehended.
"Investigators are further clarifying all circumstances. There are no injuries resulting from the use of weapons. The patrol officer sought medical assistance," the police concluded.
