This academic year, the National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy» has started offering a course in the Crimean Tatar language in collaboration with the Crimean Tatar Resource Center. This represents a significant step in supporting and developing Crimean Tatar culture.

The course instructor, Aishe Arnautova, emphasized that the Crimean Tatar language is not just a means of communication but also an essential element of a unique culture, rich in traditions and art. She noted that studying this language allows students to immerse themselves in the rich history and literature of the Crimean Tatars.

Moreover, teaching the Crimean Tatar language acknowledges Ukraine's territorial integrity and respects the indigenous people. According to Arnautova, it showcases a special attitude towards Crimean Tatars as a vital part of the Ukrainian nation.

She also highlighted the symbolic nature of choosing NAUKMA for the course's launch, as the university is known for its educational philosophy that supports the creation of new knowledge and fosters national identity awareness.

Arnautova indicated that the university plans to implement modern teaching methods, allowing students to develop a comprehensive understanding of Crimean Tatar culture.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center believes that such initiatives will foster intercultural dialogue and integrate the Crimean Tatar heritage into Ukrainian society. We encourage other educational institutions to join this important endeavor.
