On the evening of April 24, a tragic event took place at the Khreshchatyk metro station in Kyiv when a passenger was struck by a train, leading to changes in the operations of the "red line" of the metro. Unfortunately, it was later confirmed that the passenger had died.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported that the metro stations "University", "Theatrical", and "Khreshchatyk" were closed to incoming passengers due to the incident at "Khreshchatyk".
Train services were organized from "Akademmistechko" to "Vokzalna" and from "Arsenalna" to "Lisova".
Additionally, a shuttle train service was arranged between the "Vokzalna" and "Theatrical" stations.
At 10:25 PM, it was reported that the passenger had died, and law enforcement is investigating the circumstances of this tragic incident.
The Khreshchatyk metro station and the transfer hub "Khreshchatyk" – "Independence Square" have resumed operations.
