The II All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference with international participation titled «Youth of Kyiv: Initiatives for Change» took place in the capital. Over two days, young activists, scientists, and students from higher educational institutions presented their innovative projects aimed at making the city more comfortable and accessible for all. The event was opened by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Mykola Povoroznyk.
«The city authorities are always open to collaboration with the community and actively involve the youth in shaping local policies. It is the youth who drive change, as their ideas and approaches are forward-thinking. They are capable of introducing fresh ideas across all aspects of city life, making it more modern and secure. Our goal is to transform Kyiv into a European metropolis that serves as a center for new opportunities and youth development,» said Mykola Povoroznyk.
He emphasized that Kyiv, thanks to its youth, is a beacon of change in the face of global challenges.
With the support of the Kyiv City State Administration, the conference «Youth of Kyiv: Initiatives for Change» was held for the second time as part of the Kyiv Development Platform. The organizers included the KNDU «Research Institute of Socio-Economic Development of the City» and higher educational institutions that are part of the Kyiv Scientific-Innovative Cluster.
This time, the event lasted two days due to the large number of participants and sections. The first day was dedicated to presentations by young leaders in their educational institutions, while the second day took place at the city hall.
Topics discussed included youth initiatives in various sectors aimed at creating an inclusive and barrier-free urban environment. Specific reports addressed mental health support and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among youth.
«This platform unites those who are ready to be authors of quality changes in the capital and ensures an open dialogue for achieving them. Thanks to the conference «Youth of Kyiv: Initiatives for Change», young leaders have the opportunity to present their ideas and projects, receive feedback, hear expert opinions, and explore pathways for their implementation at the city and community level,» noted the director of KNDU «NDIRoM» Serhiy Pavlovskyi.
The conference brought together over 300 participants, including representatives from 20 educational institutions in Kyiv and 15 educational and community organizations from other cities in Ukraine and abroad, as well as doctors and candidates of sciences, researchers, graduate students, master’s students, and students.
