The overpass reconstruction commenced in December 2024. Road workers completely replaced the supports, span structures, and bridge deck, installed new asphalt on the overpass and its approaches, and modernized communications. New LED lighting, railings, and noise barriers were also set up. This was announced by Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
According to him, the reconstruction of this urgently needed structure has been officially completed. On Friday, November 28, the updated overpass near the ‘Darnytsia’ metro station was opened for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The old overpass, built in 1963, had never undergone capital repairs. During the renovation, all supports, span structures, and the bridge deck were replaced, new asphalt was laid, lighting was modernized, and new barriers were installed. Bicycle and pedestrian paths have also been created.
“One of the key phases was relocating a support that previously was under the roadway on Brovarsky Avenue. Its new placement outside the roadway will reduce accidents and improve traffic flow,” Klitschko noted.
The project was implemented with accessibility principles in mind for people with disabilities. All works were conducted without interrupting the metro and transport flow along Brovarsky Avenue.
In 2026, plans are in place to complete the repairs of the underground passage and stairs on Andriy Malyshev Street, as well as to enhance the surrounding area.

Starting today, the updated overpass at the intersection of Budivelnykiv Street with Brovarsky Avenue and the Sviatoshyn-Brovar Line near the ‘Darnytsia’ station has reinstated part of the trolleybus routes. This was reported by the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration.
Specifically, trolleybus No. 29 operates on its regular route “Kureniivka Station – Darnytsia Square.”

Additionally, on Friday, a temporary trolleybus route No. 50-A “Myroslavska Street – Darnytsia Square” will be organized:

  • Myroslavska St. – Chervonoy Kalyny Ave. – Ankara Sq. – Chervonoy Kalyny Ave. – Voskresensky Ave. – Hryhorii Narbut Ave. – Budivelnykiv St. – Darnytsia Sq. – Mirova Ave. – Budivelnykiv St. – Hryhorii Narbut Ave. – Voskresensky Ave. – Chervonoy Kalyny Ave. – Ankara Sq. – Chervonoy Kalyny Ave. – Myroslavska St.

Consequently, the movement of trolleybuses No. 50-K and 29-K from Myroslavska Street and Kureniivka Station to the ‘Darnytsia’ metro station will be suspended.

From Saturday, November 29, the following routes will be reinstated:
