On the night of November 25, over 13,000 individuals, including nearly 900 children, sought refuge in Kyiv's metro stations during an air raid alert. This was reported by the Kyiv Metro company. Important information from the Kyiv City State Administration.
The metro's press service emphasizes that 46 stations are continually operating as shelters. All station vestibules are open for entrance, and staff are present on platforms to provide assistance.
To make your stay in the metro during alerts comfortable, it's advised to bring:
- warm clothing, blankets, and mats (the average temperature in shelters is 17–18 °C, drafts are possible);
- personal medications and water or a warm drink in a thermos;
- hygiene products, including wet and dry wipes;
- for pet owners — pads and bags.
The Kyiv Metro has urged residents to consider the comfort of others and to behave politely towards the staff. They ensure the uninterrupted operation of the metro during alerts and fulfill essential tasks to keep the underground safe and convenient for passengers even in challenging times.
It should be noted that during the night of November 25, Kyiv experienced a massive attack involving drones and rockets. Six fatalities have been confirmed in the capital. The enemy continues to target civilian infrastructure, terrorizing peaceful residents. Additionally, temporary restrictions on heating supply have been implemented in the city.
