A new mural honoring Taras Davidyuk has been unveiled on a waterfront in Kyiv.
This tribute represents the life of Taras, a journalist and soldier who died while performing his duties
during the conflict, saving his comrades. This occurred on November 3rd on the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia.
Taras was a political scientist and was deeply involved in volunteer work, especially with youth organizations like Plast.

He participated in military operations from 2014 to 2019, and again since February 2022.
In September, he got engaged to Tetiana Lushchenko but soon returned to the front lines. On his social media, Taras stated: «There is nothing more important than the war right now».
Initially, the mural was to be created in Rivne, but due to bureaucratic hurdles, the project was moved to Kyiv.
The local council imposed a moratorium on new monumental projects.
«Taras's family wanted this project to come to life. «Despite all the difficulties, Taras's mother insisted on seeing this mural realized,» - curator Yevheniya Fullen shared with Suspilne.
The family funded the mural's creation themselves.
Artists Vladyslav Pavlenko and Tina Didenko worked on the portrait for four days, from November 8 to 11.
«The Kyiv waterfront was the perfect location as it is legal for murals and did not require lengthy permits,» - the artist explained.
Taras would have turned 39 years old. He was a public figure, analyst, and journalist active since the early 2000s.
