The capital has acquired new inflatable double mattresses providing 2,160 sleeping places, along with about 100 pumps for inflation. This initiative was made possible through the project "Mattresses for Shelters" initiated by Belgian activist Alain Marlière.

This was reported by Valentyn Mondriivskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv City Council member ("UDAR" faction).

The French company INTEX, which provided the mattresses, Rotary Club President Mr. Lacroix from Louhans Bresse Bourguignonne, and the Luxembourg-based company B&B Logistik, which organized transportation, all contributed to this effort. Part of the transport costs were funded by the company's director, Mr. Braun, while the rest was covered by European Rotary clubs.

The Kyiv City State Administration is responsible for receiving and distributing the aid, which will be sent to shelters to improve the comfort of residents during air raid alerts.

“Thanks to this initiative, the shelters in the capital that need it most will receive the necessary means for the comfortable stay of people during air raids. This is incredibly important, as enemy attacks unfortunately do not lessen, and with each new bombardment, more residents seek refuge in shelters to save their lives. We are sincerely grateful to our international partners for their support — such expressions of solidarity and humanity bring us closer to the great European family,” Valentyn Mondriivskyi noted.

During the aid transfer, the representative of the French Embassy in Ukraine, Counsellor Sebastian Suren, emphasized that cooperation and solidarity in supporting Ukrainians are currently very important.
