The construction of a new bridge crossing will play a significant role in enhancing Kyiv's transportation system. The Podil Bridge currently connects various parts of the capital, serving a crucial function in improving transport mobility.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration's Department of Transportation Infrastructure, the next step will involve building an exit to Podil, which will help alleviate traffic congestion and make city travel more comfortable.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the first phase of constructing the Podil-Vyhurivska metro line, which will connect the left and right banks of the capital. The project includes the construction of a section from the “Hlibovytska” station to the “Raidozhna” station.
The line will feature the “Hlibovytska”, “Podilska”, “Raidozhna” stations, and three stations integrated into the bridge structure. Transfer hubs will be established between the “Lukianivska” — “Hlibovytska” and “Tarasa Shevchenka” — “Podilska” stations. The “Raidozhna” station will be constructed on the left bank.
Currently, part of the preparatory work has been completed. Following the construction of the exit to Podil, work directly related to the launch of the metro to Troieshchyna will commence.
As a reminder, on August 23, traffic was fully opened in both directions on the Podil Bridge.
