At the VI International Film Festival "Svitlo", audiences will have the opportunity to select a winner for the "Audience Choice Award" from a selection of 30 films across various genres. A press conference dedicated to this event was held at KyivInform.

The festival will run from September 14 to 16 at the Ukrainian House, promising to be a source of inspiration for both children and adults, emphasizing the importance of faith in victory.

Festival president Konstantin Shapovalov noted that "Svitlo" is the first festival of the 2023 season. The program features national and international competitions in categories including feature films, short films, and a special nomination for "social video".

"Attendees will receive aesthetic pleasure. We aim to promote bright moral values," emphasized Shapovalov.

The festival's opening and closing will showcase two feature films, alongside animated and documentary shorts. Filmmakers from Germany, the USA, the Netherlands, Colombia, and Moldova are participating in the festival.

Festival director Svitlana Tymoshenko shared details about the opening film — the Ukrainian sports drama "Pulse" about Paralympic champion Oksana Boturchuk, who will be present at the event.

Svitlana Kryvych highlighted that you don't need to be a professional director to create a social video; a smartphone can be a powerful tool.

The festival's slogan "Enduring Meanings" encourages young directors to grow professionally.

Larisa Kotlyakova added that audiences can look forward to screenings of animated works that have already won awards at international festivals.

The International Film Festival "Svitlo" was established in 2013 with the goal of inspiring Ukrainian artists to create profound cinematic works.
