A new therapeutic garden is being launched at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Ukraine, initiated by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in collaboration with the urban bureau Big City Lab. A key component of the project will be an innovative lighting system developed by Expolight.

This system will help create a serene environment conducive to escaping the hustle and bustle of city life.

The lighting will be utilized for meditation pathways, relaxation zones, and enhancing focus where needed. The system will include special structures with customized fixtures and underground lighting for trees and plants, as well as diodes that mimic the natural sunset spectrum, which is most harmonious for humans.

Representatives from the Ministry assert that this solution is based on successful practices from Japan, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries, where lighting in gardens and rehabilitation centers aids in maintaining circadian rhythms and reducing anxiety.

The therapeutic garden at VDNH will serve as a space for recovery and sensory relief for veterans, service members, and all visitors.

The effect will be achieved through visual, auditory, and tactile interactions with nature, body practices, and communal activities. Activities planned include horticultural therapy, body practices, art therapy, workshops, as well as designated areas for individual relaxation and a space for children.

This project is being implemented by VDNH together with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs as part of the National Strategy for Creating an Inclusive Space in Ukraine, initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
