On August 7, a new exhibition titled "Our goal" will open at Squat 17b in Kyiv, showcasing the works of artist and serviceman Oleksandr Komyakhov.

The exhibition will display 50 graphic pieces by military artist Oleksandr Komyakhov, illustrating the current realities of military life.

While serving in the Armed Forces, Komyakhov continues to work within the realm of military-themed art.

His sketches are not traditional artworks but actual reports from the front lines. He creates his paintings on-site during deployments, producing portraits, reports, and infographics, which he later refines.

Most of the works featured in the exhibition were created before the artist was mobilized into the military.

“This is a series of historical prints titled 'Glory to Ukrainian Weapons' for the author's project Ukrainika, which was initiated in 2015 and is currently on hold,” the organizers state.

There will also be prints from the project 'Cats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine' — a sticker pack featuring humorous cats created in 2022.

Among the exhibits is the print 'Dvizh' — an original multicolor linocut on the theme of the volunteer movement made by the artist during his service.

“Also featured are the works 'Hummvee/Pouring' and the 'Varyag Squad' emblem print for the unit where Anatoliy, a comrade of Sashko, serves. He is a significant inspiration for this exhibition, as all proceeds from the sale of prints and merchandise will be sent to Anatoliy for the purchase of a genium x4 microprocessor knee joint to return to service,” the organizers added.

They also highlighted the Ukrainika project, which provided items for the exhibition at 100% cost for fundraising.

“The prints available for purchase at this exhibition were sent to the author at the front lines for personal signatures, making them even more special,” the exhibition announcement states.

The exhibition will run from August 7 to September 3, inclusive. Curated by Nadia Antonez.

The opening will take place on August 7 at 19:00
