The towel embroidery project will last for two months, symbolizing prayer, unity, and hope.
On July 15, the initiative «Towel of Hope» began at Kontraktova Square in Kyiv—a silent embroidery event supporting captured and missing Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported on the page of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The initiative was launched by the NGO «Women of the Family», which includes the associations «Women of TDF», «Women of the Armed Forces», and «Born Free 2024».
Women from all over Ukraine and the diaspora abroad joined the event. The embroidery will continue until Defender of Ukraine Day, serving as a symbol of prayer, unity, and hope.
As part of the initiative, relatives of captured and missing soldiers, as well as all concerned individuals, will embroider towels as a symbol of the struggle for their loved ones, along with memory and solidarity.
A representative from the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War participated in the event.
He provided families with individual consultations regarding the mechanisms for obtaining information about the captives and missing persons, as well as opportunities to interact with the Coordinating Headquarters.
