In response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement about a new short "ceasefire", UN representatives expressed their desire to see the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine based on principles of international law and the organization's charter.

Direct quote from Dujarric: "Our position remains unchanged: we want to see an end to the war... It must be based on principles grounded in the UN Charter, international law, and all relevant resolutions".
Dujarric emphasized that peace must be sustainable and respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He also noted that the UN values any efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine that align with "the position I have expressed many, many, many times".
When asked about the involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict, acknowledged by both Russia and North Korea, the spokesperson responded succinctly: "I think any internationalization of any conflict is a wrong direction".
