In recent weeks, the USA has engaged in private discussions about potential security guarantees for the military forces of the "coalition of defenders" that may be deployed in Ukraine after a peace agreement with Russia is reached.

Details: British officials acknowledge that specific support terms from the USA remain unclear.
Washington has not officially promised military assistance in the event of a direct attack from Russia, and Trump has repeatedly rejected the idea of providing security guarantees. However, according to the publication, American negotiators have clearly indicated their willingness to support Western forces during private conversations in recent weeks.
Quote: "One form of such support is intelligence sharing, which has long been a foundation of the "special relationship" between the USA and Great Britain.
Another form is logistical assistance. European aircraft, ships, and ground forces will require supplies and help in analyzing the movements of Russian troops in and outside Ukraine."
Details: British officials stress that it is difficult to predict what exactly and when Trump will approve.
"Negotiations are ongoing, and he (Trump – ed.) has stated several times that he will support us, as you know. I have made it clear that this is a crucial component of everything we are planning," said UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an interview with The Telegraph.
Quote: "Operational discussions regarding the "coalition of defenders" have been divided into four conditional "segments" of military activity: "air", "sea", "land", and "reconstruction".
The first two segments imply that European allies will control the airspace over Ukraine and the Black Sea to prevent Russia from violating the peace terms.
The third segment concerns troops stationed directly on Ukrainian territory. Meanwhile, the front line with Russia after a possible peace treaty will be held by Ukrainian forces, not Western ones.
The fourth aspect of the coalition's plans – "reconstruction" – pertains to the long-term support of the Ukrainian army, which is currently considered the most capable in Europe.
Details: It is expected that the British training program for Ukrainian troops – Operation Interflex – will be relocated from Great Britain to western Ukraine. However, the possibility of further deployment of British troops beyond this limited involvement is still under consideration.
According to British plans, these four elements do not necessarily need to be engaged simultaneously. Likely, immediately after achieving a ceasefire, only Ukrainian forces will hold back the enemy, and allies will gradually join.
At the same time, it remains uncertain whether European allies will continue to supply arms to Ukraine after the ceasefire, and whether the USA will allow the sale of American weapons to Kyiv, the publication notes.
