Ukraine successfully retrieved 909 bodies of soldiers who lost their lives in various combat zones.
This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Details on the return of fallen soldiers
The bodies were returned from the following areas:
- Kurakhiv
- Pokrovsk
- Bakhmut
- Vuhledar
- Luhansk
- Zaporizhzhia
- Sumy
- Kharkiv.
Bodies were also retrieved from morgues located in Russia.
The repatriation was facilitated by the Coordination Headquarters, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, and international organizations.
The bodies will be transported to designated state institutions where law enforcement and forensic experts will confirm the identities of the deceased.
After identification, the bodies of Ukraine's defenders will be handed over to their families for burial.

On March 28, 909 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers were returned.
On February 14, Ukraine returned 757 bodies of fallen soldiers.
On January 24, 757 bodies were repatriated.
On December 20, 503 bodies of soldiers were returned.
On November 29, 502 bodies of soldiers were repatriated.
On November 8, 563 bodies of soldiers were returned.
On October 18, Ukraine retrieved 501 bodies of soldiers.
On August 2, 250 bodies of fallen soldiers from various regions were returned.
On June 14, 254 bodies of fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine, which will be handed over to families after identification.
