Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the international community, particularly the United States and Europe, to respond firmly to the recent Russian missile strike in Sumy.

He stated that the attack resulted in numerous casualties among civilians.

"Only monsters act in such a way, taking lives from innocent people. My heartfelt condolences to all the victims. A rescue operation is currently underway, and all necessary services are working to address the aftermath. The world must respond decisively. The United States, Europe, and all those who wish to end this war and the killings," the Ukrainian president emphasized.

He stressed that Russia's intention is to spread terror, and this war will not end without pressure on the aggressor.

"Peace is impossible without action against the aggressor. Talks have never stopped missiles and bombs. We need to treat Russia as the terrorist state it is. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine and helps us protect lives," Zelensky remarked.

As a result of the missile strike on the morning of April 13, more than twenty civilians were killed in the center of Sumy, reported acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
