General Christopher Cavoli, the NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, believes Ukraine has a chance for success in the war.

When asked about the likelihood of Ukrainian defeat, Cavoli stated: "No. Nothing is inevitable in war, and Ukraine is currently in strong defensive positions, gradually improving its capabilities".

He also mentioned that it is "hard to imagine a large-scale Ukrainian offensive" that would liberate every inch of Ukrainian territory from Russian occupation.

"But it is equally hard to imagine that Ukraine will collapse and lose this conflict. I do not believe that a Ukrainian defeat is inevitable", – emphasized the American general.

Cavoli also agreed that the Ukrainian army has evolved "from a soldier with a rifle to a truly serious modern military force".

These comments came amid reports that the US might ignore the forthcoming "Ramstein" meeting, which provides military support to Ukraine.

At the upcoming Contact Group meeting in NATO’s headquarters in Brussels, the UK and Germany will co-chair.
