The Ukrainian air defense units successfully neutralized 84 out of 97 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine on the evening of January 20. This information was shared by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
The enemy launched the attack at 18:00 on January 20, firing one "Iskander-M" ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea, along with 97 strike drones of types Shahed, "Herbera," and others from various directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), Chauda (Crimea), and temporarily occupied Donetsk, with about 70 being "Shaheds."
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:30 on January 21, preliminary data indicates that the air defense shot down 84 drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits from a ballistic missile and 13 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as debris from the downed drones at one site.
The attack continues, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace.
On the night of January 21, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih.
