Over 1 million explosive devices have been neutralized by the demining units of the Security and Defense Forces since the onset of full-scale conflict. According to the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, nearly 6,500 km² of land has been surveyed, along with 9,691 km of roads, 10,164 km of power lines, and 3,748 km of railways. Additionally, 37 thousand km² of liberated territories have been declared safe for use following non-technical inspections.
Due to coordinated efforts, the pace of mine clearance has been increasing; in 2024, 38 km² were cleared, and in 2025, nearly 150 km² have already been addressed. Approximately 9.85 million hectares of agricultural land across 10 regions remain unsafe due to explosive contamination, which constitutes nearly a quarter of all agricultural land in Ukraine. Over 13.9 million hectares of Ukrainian land have been affected by hostilities. This information was shared by the Committee on Agricultural and Land Policy, as reported by the Telegram channel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The process of clearing agricultural lands involves both state institutions and certified private demining operators.
International partners are also actively participating in land clearance activities. In particular, Ukraine is procuring demining equipment from DOK-ING, a Croatian manufacturer of robotic systems for humanitarian clearance.
Currently, 69 DOK-ING machines are operating in 10 regions of Ukraine, with over 25 million square meters of land cleared and more than 10,000 explosive devices neutralized.
